Hello to all of my Tiger team students! I’m Alison Vroome and I will be your Social Studies teacher this year. I look forward to challenging you academically, as well as interacting with you on a more individual basis. I am excited to meet each and every one of you and begin this year long journey together.
So that you may know your teacher a little better, I’ll tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia by my two wonderful parents. After graduating high school, I moved to Charlottesville, Virginia to attend the University of Virginia. While at UVA, (go Wahoos!) I pursued my passion for teaching and graduated with a Masters of Teaching degree. I immediately moved south to Cary, NC and began teaching in Wake County. I’ve been a 6th grade teacher for Wake County schools for 19 years and I am really excited to begin my 20th year here at Mills Park Middle School with you! I also have two daughters and the cutest Goldendoodle ever!
When I’m not spending time with my family and friends, I enjoy doing crafts (you might see some of them around the room as the year goes on) and gardening. That’s just a little bit about me. The rest you will have to find out about on your own as we journey through your sixth grade year together!
